Enjoys her solitude and would prefer to be alone when ever possible. She also likes to perform tradition Japanese songs in her shower!

Interests

She enjoys learning to sing classical Asian songs and collects antique Asian books. She is learning to use a katana that her father gave her when she joined Starfleet through some interactive holodeck programs her father's father had created. She also likes dressing up for special occasions in outfits she designs and makes herself.

Ambitions

To bring honor to her family name, like her ancestors before her. She would also like to see the Universe, as long as she doesn't have to view it from to high up!

Likes

Martial arts and traditional Asian attire. She makes her own clothing having learned to sew from her grandmother.

Dislikes

Pushy men who think they're gods gift to women and doesn't like heights very much either.

Though slender, Miho is stronger then she appears. She is also very agile and fast. Good hand eye coordination and a quick thinker.

Limitations

Very timid and quiet in off duty settings. She doesn't make friends very quickly and is viewed as an outsider by many.

In a work setting, Miho is confident and opinionated, but not aggressively so. She is highly trained in her duties and a skilled combatant. She has extensive knowledge of security systems and force fields. She is skilled in a wide assortment of energy weapons and is training herself in combat with a bladed weapon.

Personal History

Childhood and adolescence

Born aboard the USS New Orleans, Miho was raised there for the first five years of her life and then she was sent to live with her grandmother in Japan. There she attended school and helped her Grandmother in her dressmaking shop until the old woman retired.

Moving through school in an uneventful and quiet fashion, Miho knew she was different from the other girls in her class. While all they talked about where the young men from the nearby college, Miho could only think of the other girls in her class. Feeling that this was wrong in some way, young Miho told her family nothing about it and even hide it from her friends.

2379-2383: Starfleet Academy

Feeling better about herself when ever she was fighting, Miho joined the security program and began training in Vulcan martial arts. She kept to herself and made few friends in the Academy, but she did well and passed her courses. She came in third in the Academy martial arts contest, losing out to a Vulcan and an Andorian. She excelled at remembering security protocols and enacting them. She was skilled with computer security systems and locking down secure systems in emergencies. She even became an excellent shot with a phaser.

Psychological Report

Ms Okawa is a strangely shy young lady that keeps to herself and has difficulty opening up to people. It may be because of her up bringing, but I feel that it is something deeper. However, she is an intelligent, thoughtful and skilled young lady that has no problem throwing herself into her work. Mentally sound but very closed off to the rest of the world, she is nonetheless fit for duty.
