Personal History:
Moira was born in the sleepy Scottish village of Willow on Arden.  Her parents were an odd match.  Her father being Irish and her mother Scottish, Moira was a 50 percent blend of the two.  Early on Moira chose to learn the history of her mother’s side of the family and fell in love with Scottish culture.  It was also during this time that she developed a paralyzing fear of rodents after falling into a sewer pipe and being stuck for several hours amidst hundreds of rats and mice. Her parents encouraged her to follow her dreams and she followed her older brother to Starfleet Academy.  Moira’s tongue and skill for the “Blarney” got her into and out of a lot of situations and it was to her instructor’s relief that she graduated.  Her first assignment was to the USS Lewiston, a Miranda class vessel.  The Dominion War had just broken out and the future of Starfleet was grim. The Lewiston due to its advanced age was kept out of much of the fighting, and it wasn’t until the end was in site that the vessel actually saw active service at the front.   Moira served with distinction as the Ships Conn Officer and received an Award for Merit.  In the closing days of the fighting the Lewiston was caught by several Jem’Hadar fighters and nearly destroyed.  Moira managed to limp the ship to safety after reinforcements arrived.  She received a transfer to the USS Swiftsure upon the scrapping of the Lewiston and shortly there after was made the Chief Conn Officer.
