Personal History:
Barraq’s parents died when he was very young. However they had enough latnum saved up to buy him a good adoption. His adoptive parents also bought anonymities on the records to protect themselves in case he made bad business decisions. He was raised well enough, learning as many tricks of the trade as any other Ferengii would, though he had a tendency to out deal his adoptive siblings for privileges at home.

At 25 he noted that a vast area of space was untouched by the business of the alliance, obtaining permission from the Grand Naggus, at a great price, he chose to find a starship and see if he could negotiate free passage to some of the outlying areas. He would only spend a few years seeing if there was untapped commerce out there, though.

A long and troubled history ensued, involving slavers and generally a good many people Baraq had rather not see again (although the feeling is not always mutual). After a stint on the USS Liberty as bartender alongside Science Officer Durek, Baraq later met with him again and holds him responsible for failed deals as well as being sold as a slave. Baraq finally settled down on New Deridous as Book keeper for Klingon Head of House Bray'lok, son of Fay'lorg. An unfortunate encounter with some old foes had him running again. Baraq is now the proprietor of O'Mally's Tavern on the USS Swiftsure - and determined to have First Officer Durek pay for all his woes.
